The M33 Core shows the M33 lying approximately 3 million light years away. M33 is often named the Triangulum Galaxy after the constellation it can be found in and is the third largest member of the Local Group of galaxies behind the Andromeda Galaxy and our very own galaxy, the Milky Way. It is one of the most distant permanent objects in the night sky that can be seen with the naked eye in optimum conditions.
