We often dream about people from whom we receive a letter by the next post. I have ascertained on several occasions that at the moment when the dream occurred the letter was already lying in the post-office of the addressee.

    意味ある偶然の一致

    奇跡の偶然

    たんに偶然として片づけてしまうにはあまリにも符合することばかりで、どう考えても偶然の一致とは思えなくて、そこには「 何か 」がありそうだとしか思えない、そんな「 現象 」にあなたも出くわしたことがあるだろう?

    たとえば、受話器を手に持った瞬間に、ちょうど電話しようと思っていた相手からかかってきたとか、頭のなかで好きなメロディーをハミングしていたら、たまたまつけていたラジオからその曲が流れてきた。

    あるいは、支払期日が迫って切羽詰まっていたときに、それをちょうどまかなえるだけの金額が、何らかの方法でもたらされた…。

    このような瞬間を、「単なる偶然の一致」と言ってすませることはできるだろうか。もちろん、そう言うこともできるだろう。しかし、統計学的手法では計算が不可能なほど最高のタイミングでそれが起こったとき、何も感じないままでいる人間はいないのではないだろうか。
