  • We are here to awaken from our illusion of separateness.
  • You must love in such a way that the person you love feels free.
  • Many people think excitement is happiness…. But when you are excited you are not peaceful. True happiness is based on peace.
  • Understanding means throwing away your knowledge.

    Thích Nhất Hạnh (1926 – ) is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace activist. He lives in Plum Village in the Dordogne region in the south of France, travelling internationally to give retreats and talks. He coined the term “Engaged Buddhism” in his book Vietnam: Lotus in a Sea of Fire. A long-term exile, he was given permission to make his first return trip to Vietnam in 2005.

    Nhất Hạnh has published more than 100 books, including more than 40 in English. He is active in the peace movement, promoting nonviolent solutions to conflict and he also refrains from animal product consumption as a means of nonviolence towards non-human animals.

    La vie n’est pas un endroit particulier ou une destination – la vie est un chemin.

    Ne cherchez pas ce que vous voulez voir ce serait en vain.

    Ne cherchez rien, mais donnez une chance à la vision profonde de se manifester par elle-même.Elle vous aidera à vous libérer.

    Quand je marche, mon cœur est en paix, mes pieds embrassent la terre, et mes yeux embrassent le ciel.

    Il est très important de savoir écouter avec compassion.

    L’écoute n’a qu’un seul but : permettre à l’autre de vider son cœur.

    Arrêtez d’attendre pour pouvoir vivre.

    Ne cherchez pas ce que vous voulez voir. Ce serait en vain. Ne cherchez rien, mais donnez une chance à la vision profonde de se manifester par elle-même. Elle vous aidera à vous libérer.

    Sans compréhension, l’amour n’est pas le véritable amour.

    Le bonheur n’est possible que si l’amour est authentique.
