    My name is Cameron Diaz.
I’m 41, on my way to 42. I am an actor in film.
I recently wrote a book called The Body Book,
co-authored with a wonderful writing partner named Sandra Bark.
I grew up in Long Beach, California.
I live in Los Angels and New York. I go back and forth.
    I like the seasons.
What else do I need to tell you? I think that’s it, right?

When people say, “I want to be like you, an actor,
I want to look like you,
the question I always ask them is, “Why? Really why?”
People, especially in America, this idea of fame
that to be famous means that you’re successful, that you’re happy.
    It’s not about
I don’t do what I do because I want to be famous
That’s part of… being famous is my job.
I am not when I’m home, I am not when I’m with my family and friends,
I am not famous, I am me. I’m Cameron.
    Fame does not define me.
If you are looking for fame to define you,
    then you’ll never be happy.
You will always be searching for happiness.
You will never find it in fame.
    So, it goes back to,
I think, for me, authenticity, intention.
Why do you want to anything you do?
You have to be motivated by something you think you gonna
fulfillment comes from within you by being authentic to yourself.
    Not chasing fame.

    I was really fortunate.
The education I got from my parents was really amazing.
I was so lucky to have the best parents,
    who really trusted and empowered
    They just gave us everything.
At every moment, my parents were teaching us.
    They were actively teaching us.
Work ethic, how to be a good person, how to treat people,
how to be a good human being.
That was very important to them.
    There were always lessons.
I think that they loved with every part of their being.
    They loved us so deeply.
    That, I think
To know what it feels like to be loved
to know how to love and how to be loved,
    is such an important thing.
They really showed us, my sister and I,
    how to do that.

    When my father died,
the moment, not knowing what that meant,
not knowing what it would mean to be without him,
    was probably the hardest moment.
Seeing my mother having to say goodbye to him,
    that was really hard.
    And all of the family,
That moment of not knowing was so painful.
After that, I learned the lesson very soon.
The next morning when I woke up, I was thinking.
“My God, my dad is dead! He’s gone.”
And I had this moment where I saw my dad standing next to me.
I looked over and he was gone.
There was this massive hole, a huge hole.
It was so deep, it was bottomless.
It was so dark, so overwhelming.
And on the other side of that hole was the massive pile of dirt.
It was so high. I couldn’t see the top of it.
And instinctively, I walked around the hole.
    I saw myself doing that.
I rolled up my sleeves, and started climbing through the dirt.
As soon as I dug my hand in, I pulled my hand out,
and there were strands of emeralds and rubies, and a gold goblet.
I was so perplexed, for a moment.
    Immediately, I realized
Okay, where he once was, is now
he has left me a task, a responsibility.
I must climb up this pile of dirt
    that seems so overwhelming,
and I must dig out all of the treasures he has left behind.
All of the jewels. All of the lessons.
All of the things that are going to enrich my life.
And I just saw myself climbing through it.
And I’m still climbing up, up to the top.
    I’ve gotten so many.
He’s left me so many beautiful treasures!

Powerful Words From Cameron Diaz About Money, Fame, & Happiness

    by Arjun Walia

    http://www.collective-evolution.com/2015/12/14/in-one-minute-cameron-diaz-explains-how-fame-will-not-bring-you-happiness/

“To succeed in your professional life isn’t that hard, but to succeed in your personal life is a lot harder. To really be a human is a lot harder. We forget about that.” – Yann Arthus-Bertand, director of the film Human, from which the clip below was taken from.

Celebrities using their voice to inspire people and create awareness about important issues seems to be an emerging trend in popular culture. This is very encouraging and something we need more of, especially given the fact that, unfortunately, some of them are made to be worshipped like gods. Many people want to be like them and look like them, and will buy any product a celebrity claims to use to further this goal. Celebrities are often used as corporate billboards as well, literally functioning as powerful tools for various corporations and being treated accordingly. They are huge money makers who develop, in some cases, a cult-like following. Here is a great video of Lady Gaga expressing this reality, among other things.

Russell Brand is another great example of someone who is using their fame to help spark and create change. We also see that with Jim Carrey, who has recently had some of his inspiring messages to humanity go viral. Woody Harrelson has done the same, along with many others.

Below is yet another example, this time from actress Cameron Diaz. In the video, she explains why fame or money will not bring you happiness. Sure, money is a necessary tool in our world, and while it doesn’t have to be this way, as things currently stand we do need it to survive. That being said, if you are constantly searching for money, material wealth, or fame because you think it will make you happy, you are sure to be disappointed. If we join the search for possessions and other external sources of happiness, we will be searching our entire lives.

You might be thinking, “Yeah, I already know this,” but some people don’t, and some people are so caught up life in general that we rarely take time to stop and observe ourselves, to see the big picture and ask, “What’s really going on here?” What are we doing? Why are we unhappy? Is it because we are looking for it in all the wrong places? What’s worse, many of us know this already but do not act upon this wisdom.

Real happiness is an inside job, don’t you think? The type of nourishment one needs in order to experience joyful and happy states does not come from acquiring ‘stuff’ that we think we want, it comes from within — from your thoughts and how you perceive the world, from giving to others, from being kind, from forming relationships with other human beings. Ask yourself, are your thoughts and wants even your own, or have they been programmed into you by mass media and entertainment?
