    Greetings

First of all, I would like to express my deep remorse and heartfelt apology over the STAP papers which were published in Nature in 2014. I feel a strong sense of responsibility for the STAP papers, and, as a scientist, I am ashamed of my careless mistakes.

My goal in starting this webpage is to provide the information to the scientific community that may allow for solid proof of the production of STAP cells to be achieved. Therefore, I am openly providing my protocols for creating STAP cells, in the hopes that another scientist will be able to bring them to reality.

I am still under medical treatment for mental and physical depression from this incident. For this reason, I will be gradually updating the information here about STAP.

It is my sincere wish that STAP cell progress research will someday rightfully return to the forefront of scientific publications, so that we all may benefit.

    Announcement

My Ph.D thesis that was reintroduced to Waseda University is still under advisement with relevant people about lawsuits or readmission to other universities.

While it is not clear what decision will be reached, it has been decided that the public opening of my Ph.D thesis is to be postponed for this reason.

I apologize in advance for this.

STAP cell clusters derived from spleen and their gene expression profiles

The gene expression analysis results were taken from each cluster in the upper panels. The ID numbers (such as ATP-No.1) in the photos and in the gene expression profile are identical. For example, the gene expression results from ATP-No.1 was obtained from the cell cluster of ATP-No.1 in the photo panel.

The cell culture was performed by Haruko Obokata. Photography and gene expression analyses were performed by other members in the STAP verification experiment team.
