I worked at my local branch library in Nashville when I was in high school, and I just knew then, at age 16, that it was meant to be. Even further back, when I was a kid, my mom once caught me at a bookstore straightening the shelves and putting the books in order, and I think she knew then that it was my destiny. It is just a field that I really get. I understand it; I am passionate about it; and I know it is where I should be. Even now that I am taking classes, I often think, “Well, obviously that is what a librarian should do!!! Do potential librarians not know this???” when we are learning things, so the librarian mentality is just one that has been forever a part of my personality and mindset.
