最後の最後でハラリは、それまでハードカバー本で400頁、11章を通じて語ってきた主張をひっくり返すような3つの問いを読者に投げかけることで、本書の議論を閉じている。
その問いとは、以下の3つである。
「生体器官（organism）とは、本当にアルゴリズムなのか？ 生命とは、本当にただのデータ処理過程に過ぎないのか？」
「知性と意識では、どちらがより価値があるのか？」
「意識は持たずに高い知性だけを持つアルゴリズムが、我々よりも我々自身についてよりよく知る事態となった時、社会や政治、そして日常生活には、何が起こるのか？」
いずれも、「生体器官＝アルゴリズム」、「人工物における知性と意識の分離、そして知性の一方的進化」、「知性だけが突出したアルゴリズム＝超知性が、私たちよりも私たちをよく知るようになる」などといった、最終頁に至るまで“Homo Deus”の中で大前提にされたり、途中で結論として導出された鍵となる「命題」を、根底から覆す問いである。
だがこの大仕掛けな「ちゃぶ台返し」こそ、歴史家ハラリの面目躍如たるところなのだ。
