It’s such an exhilarating feeling to lucid dream. It’s like a drug — it’s that powerful.
You can try flying, singing, having sex — it’s better than VR.

Leave traveling to those who don’t exist! Presumably for someone who is nothing, life, like a river, is a simple matter of flowing ever onwards. For those who think and feel, those who are awake, the ghastly experience of sitting on a train, in a car or in a ship lets them neither sleep nor wake.
I return from any journey, however short, as if from a sleep full of dreams – in a state of torpid confusion, with all my sensations glued together, drunk on what I have seen.
I can’t rest because my soul is sick. I can’t move because there’s something lacking between body and soul; it’s not movement I lack, but the desire to move.

The Muses (/ˈmjuːzɪz/; Ancient Greek: Μοῦσαι, Moũsai) are the inspirational goddesses of literature, science, and the arts in Greek mythology. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, lyric songs, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. They were later adopted by the Romans as a part of their pantheon.
In current English usage, “muse” can refer in general to a person who inspires an artist, musician, or writer.

Countries pour money into the festivities, often going far over budget, with the hope that they’ll receive a return—either through tourist dollars or else through raising the city’s profile internationally. And, after the closing games, those hulking stadiums and sports venues are expensive to maintain. They also can be hard to find a use for. Domestic sports just don’t draw the same crowds as the Olympics do.

Most of us daydream. We can control it, unlike sleep. The content of our daydreams tends to reflect what is motivating or of importance to us. These daydreams are more related to our physical and social environment. They are parts of our daily activities varying from person to person depending upon his desires, or dislikes. This is a part of our waking consciousness. When you cannot solve your problem, you just throw yourself to your rocking chair and start fantasizing. You are just using your imagination to understand what other people are experiencing. Fantasy can contribute to your creativity thus making you more psychologically fit.
Whether daydreams are adaptive or maladaptive depends on us. Some students daydream and spend much time in fantasy life. They want easy life and they don’t do much studying. The supervisor or the secretary daydreams also. Most of us daydream especially when we are in a stage where we can not resolve our problems; we regress and delve into some kind of wishful thinking.

Frederik van Eeden

I can only say that I made my observations during normal deep and healthy sleep, and that in 352 cases I had a full recollection of my day-life, and could act voluntarily, though I was so fast asleep that no bodily sensations penetrated into my perception. If anybody refuses to call that state of mind a dream, he may suggest some other name. For my part, it was just this form of dream, which I call “lucid dreams,” which aroused my keenest interest and which I noted down most carefully.

isFruity cocktails
Very popular in the summer and costing less than a dollar, use your imagination to create your own unique blends. You can even spoil yourself by adding milk, sugar and crushed ice.
Tea and coffee
If you were worried about leaving behind your local Costa Coffee then you will be happy to know that the Caliphate serves some of the best lattes and cappuccinos around. The milk is truly delightful — creamy and fresh. As for the tea then the distinctive pekoe leaves of Layalina are, at the moment, the frontrunners.
Ice cream
Fluffy, velvety and sweet. If you want to treat yourself then indulge in this full fat delight all for less than 30 pence.
Chocolates
Snickers, Kit Kat, Bounty, Twix, Kinder Surprise, Cadburys — yes, yes we have it all.

The waking have one world in common; sleepers have each a private world of his own.

Even sleepers are workers and collaborators of what goes on in the universe.

Wabi-sabi represents a comprehensive Japanese world view or aesthetic centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. The aesthetic is sometimes described as one of beauty that is “imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete”. It is a concept derived from the Buddhist teaching of the three marks of existence, specifically impermanence (無常), the other two being suffering (苦) and emptiness or absence of self-nature (空).
Characteristics of the wabi-sabi aesthetic include asymmetry, asperity (roughness or irregularity), simplicity, economy, austerity, modesty, intimacy and appreciation of the ingenuous integrity of natural objects and processes.

Pedro Calderon de la Barca

So sleep; sleep fast: and sleep away those two
Night-potions, and the waking dream between
Which dream thou must believe; and, if to see
Again, poor Segismund! that dream must be.—
And yet, and yet, in these our ghostly lives,
Half night, half day, half sleeping, half awake,
How if our waking life, like that of sleep,
Be all a dream in that eternal life
To which we wake not till we sleep in death?
How if, I say, the senses we now trust
For date of sensible comparison,—
Ay, ev’n the Reason’s self that dates with them,
Should be in essence or intensity
Hereafter so transcended, and awake
To a perceptive subtlety so keen
As to confess themselves befool’d before,
In all that now they will avouch for most?
One man—like this—but only so much longer
As life is longer than a summer’s day,
Believed himself a king upon his throne,
And play’d at hazard with his fellows’ lives,
Who cheaply dream’d away their lives to him.
The sailor dream’d of tossing on the flood:
The soldier of his laurels grown in blood:
The lover of the beauty that he knew
Must yet dissolve to dusty residue:
The merchant and the miser of his bags
Of finger’d gold; the beggar of his rags:
And all this stage of earth on which we seem
Such busy actors, and the parts we play’d,
Substantial as the shadow of a shade,
And Dreaming but a dream within a dream!

Jean d’Ormesson, Danièle Mazet-Delpeuch

ihtrdv-chef16-blog480The story is based on a two-year period when François Mitterrand, then president of France, hired a personal cook, ruffling the feathers of the official in-house Elysée chef.
In 1988, Mr. Mitterrand had just been re-elected for another seven years and began his new term by proclaiming in front of an adviser: “I want a woman from the country in my kitchen!”
The search led to a recommendation by the Michelin-starred chef Joël Robuchon: Danièle Mazet-Delpeuch, a cook from the Périgord region, who had founded Foie Gras Weekend, a pioneering class teaching the region’s cuisine, as well as creating the École d’Art et Tradition Culinaire du Périgord, the area’s first cooking school, and opening a restaurant in her home.
She was whisked to the Elysée where she was told that a high-level man in government needed a cook. When she found out who it was, she said she simply accepted then and there. The story of the next two years cooking for a president who had a passion for gastronomy is recreated in the film, with Catherine Frot as Ms. Mazet-Delpeuch and Jean d’Ormesson, a novelist and member of the Académie Française, playing the former president, in his first film role at age 87.

8 Women Dream

Our intention is to make you believe that you can achieve your dreams too. It is our sincerest wish — through the sharing of our personal experiences — that we will inspire you to pursue your big dream.
Even if you are sick, overweight, over age 55, under age 21, married, divorced, rich, without a high school diploma, unemployed, or striving to make your next meal – you can – because many dreamers started where you are.
Each day one of the eight women writers featured on this blog offer dream stories through compelling advice, humor or research to help you dream big. Sometimes guest bloggers like to share an inspiring dream story. Each dreamer typically shares their dream story once a week for a year and then moves on to live her dream. Some dreamers have stayed longer because they love writing about living their dreams.

EmmanuelleDemeautis-AdrianLomasThirty-four years ago, Emmanuelle Demeautis, then 9, was walking her dog along beach in the French coastal town of Cherbourg, when she found a message in a bottle.
The note read:
“My name is Adrian Lomas — I’m aged nine and live in England, if you find this letter please write to me.”
Demeautis did as Lomas requested, and for the next three decades, Demeautis and Lomas were penpals.
“We wrote for many years and, at one stage, we planned to meet in Tahiti but, for one reason or another, it didn’t happen.” Lomas told the Chester Leader. “However, thanks to the power of Facebook, Emmanuelle spotted that I was riding the Tour de Force and got in touch.”
Last week, 34 years after first writing to each other, the long-distance friends finally met.
“It was a really emotional meeting,” Lomas, the managing director of digital agency, Blueleaf, wrote on his blog. “We both know each other so well, both have families and are interested in similar things. Her father was a champion cyclist and her cousin is working with a cycling team. Emmanuelle and her husband write and illustrate books.”
The friends plan to meet up again — this time with their respective spouses, too — at the end of the bike tour.

I wrote the prose poem, The Invitation one night after returning home from a party. I don’t usually attend parties but on this occasion, berating myself for being anti‐social, I made an effort to go and be friendly. I returned home feeling frustrated, dissatisfied with the superficial level of the social interaction at the party. I longed for something else.

Mondragon Corporation

MondragonThe MONDRAGON Corporation is a corporation and federation of worker cooperatives based in the Basque region of Spain. Founded in the town of Mondragón in 1956, its origin is linked to the activity of a modest technical college and a small workshop producing paraffin heaters. Currently it is the seventh largest Spanish company in terms of asset turnover and the leading business group in the Basque Country. At the end of 2010 it was providing employment for 83,859 people working in 256 companies in four areas of activity: Finance, Industry, Retail and Knowledge. The MONDRAGON Co-operatives operate in accordance with a business model based on People and the Sovereignty of Labour, which has made it possible to develop highly participative companies rooted in solidarity, with a strong social dimension but without neglecting business excellence. The Co-operatives are owned by their worker-members and power is based on the principle of one person, one vote.

  • All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them.
  • If you can dream it, you can do it.
  • We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.
  • The more you like yourself, the less you are like anyone else, which makes you unique.
  • The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.
  • I always like to look on the optimistic side of life, but I am realistic enough to know that life is a complex matter.
  • When you’re curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

The most important and vital role of intellectuals in the future will be that of changing the fundamental values of humanity. Here I would like to distinguish between two categories: on the one side highly qualified experts, scientists and technicians: on the other, the intellectuals, the difference being that intellectuals have the values at heart.

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people living life in peace

Lafcadio Hearn

… the sense of existence here is like that of escaping from an almost unbearable atmospheric pressure into a rarefied, highly oxygenated medium. That feeling continues: in Japan the law of life is not as with us, — that each one strives to expand his own individuality at the expense of his neighbour’s. But on the other hand, how much one loses! Never a fine inspiration, a deep emotion, a profound joy or a profoimd pain — never a thrill, or, as the French say so much better than we, a frisson. So literary work is dry, bony, hard, dead work. …
… But how sweet the Japanese woman is! — all the possibilities of the race for goodness seem to be concentrated in her. It shakes one’s faith in some Occidental doctrines. If this be the result of suppression and oppression, — then these are not altogether bad. On the other hand, how diamond-hard the character of the American woman becomes under the idolatry of which she is the Subject. …
… I doubt, or rather I wish to doubt, that the development of individuality is a lofty or desirable tendency. Much of what is called personality and individuality is intensely repellent, and makes the principal misery of Occidental life. It means much that is connected with pure aggressive selfishness: and its extraordinary development in a country like America or England seems a confirmation of Viscount Torio’s theory that Western civilization has the defect of cultivating the individual at the expense only of the mass, and giving unbounded opportunities to human selfishness, unrestrained by religious sentiment, law, or emotional feeling.

Lewis L. Strauss

It is not too much to expect that our children will enjoy in their homes electrical energy too cheap to meter; will know of great periodic regional famines in the world only as matters of history; will travel effortlessly over the seas and under them and through the air with a minimum of danger and at great speeds, and will experience a lifespan far longer than ours, as disease yields and man comes to understand what causes him to age. This is the forecast of an age of peace.

David Icke

I have known throughout the years that I have been warning about the global fascist agenda that what we are about to see was inevitable.
It was obvious that, despite the awakening of so many in the last decade, most people would need to see, touch, smell, hear and taste the fascism before they even began to accept that it was real.
This mass-reluctance to see the signs and act upon them was always going to condemn the population to some levels of the Orwellian control-system before it is eventually dismantled. I stress that it will be dismantled, but not before it has gone a lot further yet.
The question was never whether we would avoid the police/military state. I never had any illusions about that. The question was, and is, how deeply we will allow ourselves to be controlled by this evil and that can be answered by two other questions:
When are enough people going to give their total focus to bringing it to an end and when are the gofer administrators, dark suits and uniforms going to break ranks for the sake of their own families as well as the rest of us?

>Antonio split the spines of books, spilling leaves of Austen and Cervantes, sheets from Leviticus and Judges, all mixing with the pages of The Book of Incandescent Light. Then Antonio unrolled the wrapping paper and construction paper and began to cut at the cardboard and then fold.
She was the first to be created: cardboard legs, cellophane appendix, and paper breasts. Created not from the rib of a man but from paper scraps. There was no all-powerful god who could part the rivers of Pison and Gihon, but instead a twice-retired old man with cuts across his fingers.
Antonio was passed out on the floor, flakes of paper stuck to the sweat of his face and arms, unable to hear the sound of expanding paper as she rose. His hands were bloody, pooling the ink of his body on the floor, staining his pants. She stepped over her creator, spreading his blood across the polished floor, and then walked out of the factory and into the storm. The print of her arms smeared; her soaked feet tattered as they scrapped against wet pavement and turned her toes to pulp.
